In Shrinking Mouse, written and illustrated by Pat Hutchins, the animals of the forest are convinced that the things they see in the distance that appear to be so small are in reality as small as they appear to be. When one of them sets out to check it out, the others that watch him go become concerned because he appears to be shrinking.
This is a fun book with lots of repeated phrase making it a great book for shared reading. Anna and I both really enjoyed it. It is great for introducing the concept of depth perception so would be a great resource in an art class.
This is the third book by Pat Hutchins that I've featured, the first being Titch and Daisy and the second being Little Pink Pig. Pat Hutchins really is one of our favorite authors.
