My 5 year old and I love to read together. If you have a little one that you like to read with you may be interested in following our blog.
Throughout the year of 2011 I will attempt to feature a different children's book every day of the year. These will be books that my 5 year old and I have actually read together. Many of the books will be ones we have borrowed from our local library. We will tell you a little about the book and what we thought about it. If possible we will also provide links to the author's website and other links that may be of interest. Life may interfere sometimes and posts may be a bit late but hopefully by the end of the year 365 children's books will have been featured.
Because I am a proud Newfoundlander and a proud Canadian I will be doing my best to feature at least one Canadian author and one Newfoundland author each week. Also, each Sunday I will be attempting to feature a book that has a Christian theme. Whether I accomplish this or not will depend on the availability of books. If any author or publisher would like to help by donating books that fit these categories you may email me at jacquelinehillier at gmail dot com, of course removing all the spaces and replacing the appropriate words. :)
We hope you enjoy visiting and learning about the books we read. We'd love to hear your thoughts on any of the books we feature, or your suggestions for books we should check out.
Happy reading!
I just have to say, check out the Pigeon books by Mo Willems. We LOVE them!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe love Mo Willems! Haven't read any of the Pigeon books yet but have read a few of the Piggie and Elephant ones. You can be assured there will be at least one of Mo's books featured here this coming year. :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous idea! Thanks for telling me about your site. Subscribing now and look forward to seeing what you will be sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie! The reading we did for your "Read Your Library" challenge was what inspired me to do this.
